THE MATCHA BOWL

300ml is the working volume — enough to whisk without the powder climbing the walls, sized so a standard measure of matcha and water sits at the correct depth for the whisk to function. Matte glaze was chosen over gloss because it gives the tines purchase on the pour; gloss bowls shed liquid too fast and the last third of the drink pools at the lip. Every bowl tested at gloss failed that check.
